  • Norton Grinder Hydro Hookup

Finally dissasembled the Norton Grinder Buddy gave me. Cleaned it up and now the table moves without the horrible grinding scraping sounds. I need to get it going asap as i have work for it. Whats the quickest way of wiring this 3 phase unit (1 horse i think) into a single phase system. Also the cheapest. Its gotta be something i can just buy and have a electrician hook up as i dont want to burn down the house. My wiring days are over. Thanx mike

My vote is to go for a VFD to power the unit. I went that route a few years ago when I acquired a small grinder. I find the ability to change the RPM helps as my unit likes a few cycles under 60. The VFD was installed in a larger plastic electrical housing with a clear front window and external push buttons and a control pot installed in the front panel. This keeps the VFD clean.
