  • Metal Spinning Tools - What and How To Make?

Slowly...ever so slowly...I am getting a metal spinning setup
    together.

One of the areas that I need to accumulate more is for the metal
spinning tools that one uses with the lathe.

Any suggestions, links and PICTURES of how to make metal spinning
    tools?

    Thanks

Brass or bronze tipped tools for steel, steel tipped for aluminum and copper alloys. That's assuming non-roller type tools.

Wooden tipped will do a fair job on soft copper.

Buy old wooden baseball bats at neighborhood garage sales for handles. But, beware, at a couple local sales the people thought all old wooden bat must have belonged to Babe Ruth and priced them accordingly.
