    Good deal Airsmith,
    When I purchased my lathe many years ago I wanted a mid size lathe so I purchased a 14x40 from MSC, since then I have never turned anything over 6" and nothing over 16" in length so the rest may be a waste except for the benefit of the mass. I think you will find that size a very suitable size.

        Yep, I can see it's new. No vertical oil spray line on the wall.

          Good one. That'll keep you busy as a bee(lol) for quite awhile. Yup...you're going to have a nice vertical oil strip behind the chuck one day...and on the floor in front or on your dog/cat.

            well iam sure this one will be alot better for me for sure. i cant waite to start making the chips fly,, gota build a more solid table first. the one its on i thought would be fine but it seems to not be.. so iam gong to build a table right into the wall of the shop should be able to stack 2 on it when im done gota make it strong then bolt the baby down and then i get to play again
