    First, cut the neck to width and to depth of the bottom of the slot. Refer to Machinist Handbook for dimensions. The idea is to reduce the load on the T-slot cutter by removing all the excess metal possible with endmill. Cut the depth of the cut with the endmill .002 - .004 deeper than the finished slot bottom. Then cut the finish cut with the T-slot cutter. It must start and finish at final depth, you have to have a place to start from. Should have to make only one cut with the cutter. Its as simple as it looks. Steve
