  • APT boring head

Curious on opinions of this brand? I had originally baught a Phase Two brand, and was disapointed. The APT was more reasonably priced, than perse' a Criterion. I did how ever, order a five piece Criterion boring bar set, wich had the "flats" ground in the shanks.

    ochster,
I have a Criterion 3/4" shank boring head set. This works very well for most of my boring jobs. I needed something for doing smaller jobs so I bought an APT 3/8" tool size head when they were on sale at MSC. I've only use it a couple of times but so far no complaints, even with using the Chinese carbide tipped boring bars. We used to have a few of these (APT) where I used to work. Most of the guys didn't care for them, but they were used to using the jig borer boring heads that were graduated in tenths of a thousanth.
