RE: taskbar that wouldn't "autohide" after boot up.

The culprit turned out to be Ad-Aware in auto scan mode. I had set it up to auto scan on boot up while I fixed breakfast. The taskbar gets activated when Ad-Aware starts up but does not get deactivated when Ad-Aware stops.

That is probably because Ad-aware has something to tell you about the results. Until you at least click and dismiss it it holds the task bar open.

Actually, since I have always deleted everything it finds, I set it to delete and end. The only indicater I get is the "whoop" sound at the end.

joahmon...I have been using SE free edition for sometime. After reading this thread I decided to buy it so I can set it to auto delete. I just ran it set it up and it still opens a window forcing me to select the files I want to delete. Could you help with what I am doing wrong?

Click on the "gear" icon at the top of the window.

Select "Start up".

Choose an option from the "startup scan mode"

Choose the options from the " startup action"
