I saw this Rokon Trail-Breaker at the Jerome mining museum. I remember them from the 1960s, but had forgotten all about them.





I was surprised to learn that the Rokon is still being made http://www.rokon.com/products/trailbrkr.htm.

This is the only 2-wheel-drive motorcycle I know of, but I expect there were others.

Yamaha Has a 2 wheel drive dirt bike that they have run in the Dakar Rally the last couple of years. There are also a couple of kits to convert your dirt bike to 2 wheel drive. The articles were in Cycle World over the past couple of years and the kits were a bit pricey, as I recall. If I remember correctly, one was mechanical and the other was hydraulic.
