Who sells or stocks locking collars. I may these myself, but I want to compare pricing to my time and materials.

    Jerry,

I bought a range of these from Sears Hardware when last in Detroit. Paid about $0.75 for the smallest (1/2") through to about $1.90 for the largest (1 1/4"). They came complete with hex socket grub screw. Good value this, and despite my donation to the 'Michigan Governer's beer fund' being added to the price I still wouldn't want to make them myself for this price. BTW - they were made in China!

I found them at Graingers, they are called Shaft collars, and they are cheap.

Carr-Lane makes both smooth-bore and threaded in both split and solid form. I prefer the split type as they will not damage the bolt or shaft.

Kennametal and other distributors sell them.
