  • Troyke R15 table

Is there a way to disengauge the gear so the table will freewheel? This would help with setup.

I don't have Troyke, but on my Yuasa rotab, which is very similar, the worm is cut eccentric to the handwheel shaft. So to disengage the worm, you rotate the whole worm/handwheel shaft.

Edit: from MorseTaper on PracticalMachnist, here's a scan of the worm adjustment instructions:

Someone on the thread that Tiffie linked had suggested that the Yuasa was a copy of the Troyke, but if you look at the exploded parts diagram in the second PDF, it's an entirely different design.

      Thanks StutzSpec

Try this recent thread or post to it to "bump it up" to the first page where it will be noticed again.

Tiffie, he's asking how to disengage the worm, not our opinion on import rotary tables

On the U-15, which is what I have, you have a mechanism attahced to a separate hand wheel on the opposite side that drives a rocker that moves the worm out of engagement. On the R-15, it does not seem to have that. So perhaps it works as Lazlo suggests. I do have a smaller "Manex" 8" that works that way...

Boy, I wish I could find a DA-15, but those things don't seem to exists...

Longest wait for a reply? Yes. Rotate the collar at the handwheel to the right. It will disengage the worm so you can rotate the table manually. Re-engaging the worm is simply the reverse.
