  • Chat forum >?? Neil?

    Howdy.

Over on another board I frequent, they added a chat forum, after two days with no posts it evaporates. That'd sure clean up the non topic posts here and still allow people to chat friendly like. You could actually have machinist topics in the general forum.

Just hit my finger with a hammer, aww the joys of home shop. I used to have twenty nails on my body.. now I think I got seventeen.

Sounds like they hardly gave it a chance to see if it would work.

Maybe it is just the thread that evaporates. Sounds like it might be worth trying.

It would easy to make a forum that auto prunes messages after 2 days. It would be easy to add flash chat for that matter.

the owners are nice forks to provide a free forum like this but its too bad they dont have a tech admin to fix the place up some.

I just set one up in about 2 minutes for the home model machinist. it may or may not get used but it works well is hosted off site so java does not bog down the sever and is easy to customize.
