Interesting bike build here and not a "chopper" for those averse to that style.
Minimalist offroad bike but they show from concept to completion.

I think the guy even used aircraft aluminum!

Very cool project, would be fun to cruise on, but a little too small for my liking.

What's realy strange is just yesterday I was looking at a small full suspension mountain bike, and thought it would be a good candidate to put my little 17horse kawi motor on.

      ken.

It is great that they got it done.

But that "open web" swing arm is not likely to be much (if any) of an improvement over something that could have been fabbed out of steel tubing for a lot less money (and weight). The total weight came in about 15 pounds less than a vintage trials bike with a 100-125cc Hodaka engine using motorcycle components.

Shucks, a modern 300cc two-stroke trials bike (Gas Gas) has a claimed dry weight of 150 lbf. An 80cc Gas Gas Rookie is 141 lbf (15 pounds more than their creation). And that is with MC spec wheels/forks/frame etc.

                cheers,
                Michael

I see a weak spot at the handlebar mount, too much like a BMX mount.
                  It's just an opinion though.
