I need 4 1" x 2" .563 width ball bearings for a John Deere garden tractor. JD wants $10 a piece - and looking at McMaster and MSC it seems like that is a fair price - anybody have a cheaper source for bearings?

Local power transmission supply house? If the bearing you have is marked, finding a match is easy. I have replaced four bearings on my ATV with sealed as opposed to the open ones, which were O.E., for half of the price of one from the "dealer" this way.Last edited by ERBenoit; 05-13-2008, 12:28 PM.Paying Attention Is Not That Expensive.

I shop for most of my bearings at applied.com. They have a semi local warehouse to me, an invaluable online cross reference, and IMO reasonable prices. I always search their database until I find "in stock" parts, and I typically get my stuff next day.
Later,
