  • Quick Change Tool Post

Question from a newbe. I have a harbor Freight 9x20 lathe. I bought a quick change tool post from A2Z CNC for it (piston type) and it is made out of aluminum. It is a big inprovement over the stock tool post but did I make a mistake buying an aluminum post?

It wont last as long, the dovetails will wear faster. But on a 9x20 I doubt you will ever notice.

I had one on a 920 (recently sold) that was fine. The post itself is hard anodized - therefore no problem in an HSM environment. I still have it on the lathe that replaced the 920.
