    If you've got a 3D model of the badge you can do a subtraction of it from a matching part merged to the top of it.

    All it is is whether or not the calculations match up to what you want it to do,
    try it on a scrap piece of alum. .005" deep --- set it up slow feed and get ready to hit the off button

    And now for something different!

    I have been in the process of thinking outside the box so to speak(difficult for me) and posting this to see if it would work.
    I want to produce a punch as in coining type to produce a badge or such for the museum my wife is curator of. I have had very little success in even finding software that could draw backwards as a punch waould have all the detail in reverse. Now my question is this could I produce normak text for a cnc mill and then reverse the X stepper connections so that it would as it were write backwards if this would work then do the same to a rotating table to get the text around the edge.
    Am I dreaming or does this idea have a chance!!
