  • Metal Master Ironworker... FYI..

I've seen these mentioned on here and PM.
While looking for a machine i went to this link
I just got an email for pricing.. was sorta interested because they are "local".. well within my province anyway.
CHOKE, GAG, SPUTTER.... The very basic machine.. $13,000
Would have been near $20,000 Cnd with everything i'd like.
Man... they sure are proud of THAT thing!!!
    I have tools I don't even know I own...

My brother has a P-70 Piranha and it was only $16,000 new with a bunch of round punches. it punches 3/4" plate real well.

If he were to do it again the 110 ton would have been better, it would punch 1-7/16" in 1" plate.

Being able to punch 1" plate would be so handy, many times I would have to stack up plates and drill on the milling machine and that was to slow by a mile. That mill could have been doing other jobs then drillpress work.

It seems no matter what tool you get the jobs that come through the door need a bigger machine.

For $11,500 I would rather have one of these-

Notice the wide bending brake AND a seprate flat shear, nice.
I just need one more tool, just one!

        THE best...

My opinion, Piranaha is the best..

I got cheap and old. I am a small shop and if it had more work to make the payments I'd have better.
        Excuse me, I farted.

I agree as long as you need a brute that loves to eat big thick plate. The Piranaha is not so great on thin stuff. It will do it but working thin plate is like tapping a keg with a .357 MAGNUM.
