    Administrator has prohibited access to CD DVD ROM Drives??????????????

    Yeah above error keepss coming on my screen. How do i get rid of it>? Have tried a few things so far but no luck? Could it be a virus? I ran avg and avg shell scan also ccleaner??? thanx Mike

      A google on the message itself gives a whole lot of
      references to reasons for this. Some of them may
      jiggle your memory.

        Mike,
        Try a complete power down, disconnect the power cord , wait 30 seconds, plug back in, re-boot.

        Can't offer any direct connection to your problem but it has fixed a lot of unusual issues over the years.

        It is free and only takes a couple minutes.

        What it does is force fresh initialization of drivers.

          Fixed it

          Had to go into the regedit and get into th e registrie all number values were Ok but when i reentered one of them at HIKEY LOCAL MACHINE registry it (after hours of nothing) finally worked, I think i wikll buy a external hard drive and back up my entire system .Impending doom feeling here with this old compooter. It may get a trip out to the gravelpit for hi power 50 cal target shooting.
