I have a 1953 M-Head with the rare B3 collets. Most were B&S #somethingor other (I don't want to miss-qoute) or a morse taper of some sort. The rarer B-3 collets look just like a downsized version of an R8. Although a bit on the pricer side, they ARE still available.

Bricolage anyone?....one of lifes fun games.

Eklind made vertical milling heads for installation on horizontal milling machines. There were several different sizes and/or styles. I have one that takes one of the double taper, football shaped collets. I would suspect they used more than one style of collet depending on the head.
