  • Atlas Shaper Gibs - Material?

Plain old steel, I had to make a new one for the tool slide, the previous owner put in a lock screw and was a little too enthusiastic about tightening it. I used a piece of 1018 to make a straight gib to replace the not so straight one. The others are steel as well.

      P.S.

Search "Atlas shaper" on Ebay and there's a seller that parts out Atlas shapers and mill on a regular basis. They have a 7B in pieces right now, the gibs are there. Making them works too, and is less hassle.
