  • OT: For those down under, Happy Austrailia Day

..Just looked at my calendar. It indicates it'is Austrailia Day. To those at the summer end of the globe, it is -15 degrees C. up here. Hope you are having a sunny day.
BTW, just what is Austrailia Day?

Blow the froth off a couple of cold ones mates!

I always seem to remember Australia Day. Back in student days in 1983 we were celebrating a mates birthday (same day), and this was the same time they were introducing Fosters to the UK.
A pub in Covent Garden had a promo, where if you stood on your head and drank a pint of Fosters, you got another free pint and a t-shirt that read "Fosters Oz Day '83, I was there!"
Doesn't fit me anymore though, partly thanks to the Fosters...

            Peter,
You have to stand up first BEFORE putting the tee shirt on............

It was the day that 7 sailing ships, brim full of Britain's finest landed on these shores 26th January 1788..

Also referred to by some urban people who live entirely off welfare as Invasion Day..
