Or for a magneto or distributer or generator?

Could be but it has a degree wheel on the end with a pointer that rotates with the drive. It has foward and reverse as well as a throttle type lever too. I tried to look up the maker online but had no luck.

OT. Any info on what this is?

My Father wasn't a mechanic but he was a car (hotrods) guy and had enough tools to service and maintain them. He's not here now and helping my Mom reorganize her garage I came upon this. It looks to me like it's something to wind motors with. The part that is puzzeling is there is no way to introduce anything clamped into the chuck as there is no crossslide but sort of vice that mounts to two rails. The vice I'm guessing stays in place when being used. On the other side of the motor is two post marked - and + like you would hook up a meter to take a reading. So any thoughts?[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG]
