    HELLO FELLOW MACHINISTS AND METAL WORKERS! I AM POSTING HERE TO FIND OUT ABOUT A LATHE THAT I RECENTLY AQUIRED (B.C.AMES #3005) IT HAS A 36" BED , HAS A 4 JAW ATTACHMENT,AND ALSO TAKES (CINCH?) COLLETS. IT CAME W/6 OF THOSE RANGING FROM 5/16THS TO 1 1/4"S IT IS MARKED ON THE BACK OF THE HEADSTOCK (US NAVY ITEM 117) IT ALSO HAS SOME MORE MARKINGS BELOW THOSE OF THE USN. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS MACHINE HAS ANY VALUE??? IT OPERATES ON 110/115V A/C. AND SEEMS TO WORK SMOOTHLY AND VERY EFFICENTLY. I NEED INFO FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS.I WOULD LIKE TO GET INTO WORKING WITH LATHES BUT WANT TO EDUCATE MYSELF BEFORE BITING MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE.
