          Thanks guys. I did see the other site thread and thats where I got interested.
          I also have a line on a Southbend 14 x 48 in really good condition for $1200 and think that is the way to go. This lathe was on a Navy Destroyer and then surplused to a bud that has had it for 25 years. He is a Gunsmith and said he used it very little.

            Hey, Hey! - that sounds like a winner! That'll make a dandy shop addition.

            My present lathe is a 13x36 SB off a Coast Guard ship (supposedly!) and it didnt seem to have been used hardly at all.
            If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something........
