  • Made little wrenches

Made a couple of small combination wrenches over the holiday.

Started with a 5/32" combination. The "box" end is loosely based on the Snap-On flank drive geometry (with my own tweaks to it). This one is a bit too thick, but all I had was some .062" thick spring steel (heat treated 1095). The correct thickness would be around .045"-.050" to be true to scale.

Today, I decided to go a good bit smaller, and made a 1/16" wrench. Cut it from a .025" thick piece of Starrett shimstock. I haven't put the 15° "kink" in the box end yet (like most combination wrenches have), but will tackle that tomorrow.

lol nice, what do you plan to do with them?
Play Brutal Nature, Black Moons free to play highly realistic voxel sandbox game.

Even with the penny for scale they didn't really register until the one in your hand.

How did you make them, EDM?

        Is this done with WEDM?

Nice job. Are you going to make a cheater bar for them?

            ROFL on the cheater bar!

            Yes... wire edm.

The 5/32 wrench is pretty much to scale, but decided to make the 1/16" wrench a bit longer than it "should" be (so it could at least be held).

You better make a bunch. It is hard enough to keep track of a regular wrench. LOL very nice

                That's what I was thinking...

I have difficulty keeping up with a 12" adjustable wrench!

                Very nice wrenches!
