Slick idea gary. I've done something similar but more to address the task of getting cutting oil to the tool. We have an exceptionally clean shop as we primarily do instrument work and we have no misters or pumped coolant systems operational. So I hooked up a small overhead reservoir with cutting oil and allowed it to gravity feed through plastic tubing to a paste brush which was fixed to the tool post. I had previously stuffed the hollow handle of the brush with some sponge to meter the flow. It worked pretty well but I only use it on jobs with very long cuts so I don't have to stand there and apply cutting oil by hand.

Tanto, All the casters are swivel and have locks but I have never used them. This has no noticeable vibration . I am sure all the weight helps in that respect.

DATo, My tracking knobs / system is different than any 2x72 I had seen. It is similar to a delta 6x48 system. One handed - slacken the big knob, adjust track with the small, lock the large knob. In making knives you are constantly shifting the belt over one edge and then the other or at least I am and have not had one problem with tracking. These look too simple to work but they do and do it with all the style and grace you would expect from a 1.5 k machine.

Glad to hear everything worked as expected. Often is the time that instructions are not proofed properly in the designers zeal to publish and the builder finds himself doing a lot of dimension tweaking. I had wondered if the software would crash like some Y2K scenario or the water in my sinks would start to swirl the opposite direction. Nope.

I wonder if there are other forums that have threads that have over a million hits. I ran across one the other day about garages that was only about 100K hits behind and still active.

Does anyone know of any other very popular threads that have reached over a million hits?

Well it has done something, the water in our sinks IS swirling in the opposite direction.

Not that one. This other guy had two garages on his property (I think he was limited to something like 3200 sf per garage so he built two).

They were chuck full of old, very collectible cars. And a machine shop. And just about everything else one would put in a garage. Complete mechanics shop. You name it, he had it. Also floors clean enough to eat off from.

I'll post it here if I come across it again.
