thought i'd say hello first,at the hot rod message board i post at you get torn a new one if you pop up in the middle of a thread without an intro.my name is george,i have an Atlas 10"x"36 with a milling attachement and a Delta benchtop drill press that i inherited from my father.i mostly use them to make parts and gizmos for my 1954 Oldsmobile or my '72 Sportster.i'd like to get a real vertical mill someday, but i can't justify the expense,or find enough room for it either, what with all the junk around here.don't worry though,i plan on looking through the archives for awhile before i start asking questions.if anyone else here is into "traditional" rods and customs chek out www.jalopyjournal.com (go to the h.a.m.b. section) i ought to mention though, anything made of "billet" that you didn't make yourself is met with outright hostility, don't say i didn't warn you!

Yep, jump right in, and you will find rodders, old car enthusiasts motorcycle junkies and a whole lot of gearheads, but watch out for THRUD, he is a 400lb gorilla that eats meatloaf his sister makes, but he has a lot of smarts and is very helpful when you have a problem. welcome aboard...

ok,i've been reading up on here, and it looks like there's some people who really know what they're talking about, for which i am greatful.it seems i have some problems though;1.i have been using the wrong lube on my lathe.2.it doesn't matter because it's junk, and i should trade it in for (insert name of favorite machine here)3.some of you (you know who you are) are seriously disturbed individuals.4.i need more guns, but not because of reason #3.i'm thinking something that uses black powder.5.i am a rank amateur at this kind of thing, but that doesn't matter, mostly because of #2.
