  • Welded up the intake yesterday. Today I will be tapping the support mounts under the intake and welding them on. Still waiting on the throttle body bolt pattern.

    • Made the die holders;

      ... tried to fill the box with foam, and coat the dies with oil to prevent sticking. The oil prevented the foam from curing, and the foam below the oil layer did not expand for some reason. For shallow objects (say I was doing only the dies, in a more shallow box), I guess I could use leftover caulking. I'll be doing that for my small drill pits and boring bars ...

      • 4x6 bandsaw stand

        I made this two weeks ago before my real job called on me. Been meaning to replace the flimsy stand for years. Added flood coolant, since I fabricate plastics for a living, I went ahead and welded up a HDPE catch tray. Only thing left is a matching tank, but I hate doing work related stuff at home.[IMG][/IMG]

        • This mangled boom pole came in Monday afternoon.

          And it was ready to leave this afternoon.

          We even reused the upper link attach plates to fix the fellows other boom pole.

                    • Finally made a speed handle for my little milling vise.
                      This has been bugging me for 2 years.

                      The o rings are to cover the slit I cut for thread clearance on the tips, did not want to end up with a loose fit on the shaft.

                      It's not perfect but it will do and is way better than it was when I got it.
                      The balls were made by file so they are not exactly the same but you have to really take hard look to see the differance.
                      If you are using violence and it does not work, You are not using enough or it is upside down.
                      You can always just EDM it...

                        How about some information on the steam engine in the back of the photo.

                          I've posted a picture of that before here. It's an O&S. Came out of one the silver mines in northern Idaho most likely. It stands about 4ft tall. It was on display at the local fair grounds for years until they moved the display to a new location. I've had it running on compressed air. It belongs to the same person that owns the bike. He likes to collect stuff like this and he brings it to me to get work done on it.

                          • Got my 10HP 3 Phase converter hooked up & working & tried out my 3 phase 200 gallon air compressor I bought 3 years ago for $100. I cant believe how quiet it is! And pumps air like crazy 200PSI. Motor runs @ 1450RPM Pumps runs @375 RPM. I'm going to like 3 Phase. I also have a 2-15KW Onan 4 cyl 3 Phase generators. I'm selling one with under 200 hrs.

                            • Hauled the boat out for bottom painting and hull waxing. For 26 years I have hauled in the second week of May and never been rained out. Sure came close to it this time though.
