  • A friend brought in the plans for some brackets that he's going to use on a building project along with several strips of 3/16 steel in various widths. After some sawing, bending, and punching, I was ready to weld. There were two long ones.

    And ten short ones.

There are a bunch more in various shapes, so I'll get some pictures of them next week.

      • Wanted to start the exhaust on a customers car today but found out the mufflers were to big so I couldn't start that today. So I moved onto the intake which I am still waiting for a final elbow to finish, I thought I would receive the intake elbow around the time I would have been done with the exhaust. Look how that worked out. lol

        • I put a new top on the deck at the house I bought for my son. He's a nice kid, but with any kind of tool he is a menace. I'm getting too old for this chit!!! I got hurts where I didn't even know I have places. Wanted to start my cast iron cylinder for the side valve engine I am building, but I'm just toooooooo wasted tonight.

          • I bought a Husqvarna YTH23V48 rider mower today. Then I mowed the lawn without ACE inhibitor fatigue. Now I have to figure out how to get it up the stairs to my back yard. Then my wife and I canned 12 quarts of fresh tomatoes. Ran out of jars so spaghetti is on the menu for tomorrow

            • Not really machining, but related. Sketched up a multifix toolholder to mount my B holders on neatly.

Then off to another toy a little 3d printer (a printrbot). Cant print fixed splines on too, as the import toolblocks dont match index wise to the originals but the two posts are sufficient to hold it on a rail for storage.

Fits ok, cant wait to get my wire edm going with the same model (I have sketched one with splines...)

                • Spent 12 hours yesterday at Butterworth hospital for hopefully my wifes last surgery. Thank God! Last were it was me down & this year her. So I plan on the next 50 yrs to be trouble free. Place was so huge no way I could walk that far so it was duelling wheelchairs in & out. But I sold a 16" Makita circ saw the guy picked up while she was in surgery. Had to ask to be rolled down to valet parking & have the car brought around to do the deal LOL. I am one mass of pain today but only have to hit the post office. Value your mobility!

Thanks! The car is a 71 firebird with an ls7 motor. It was a nice car, I was glad to work on it and stay clean.

Finished up final pics before it left.

Yes a rotary hoist. I use it to lift everything! Best tool in the shop.
