I was planning on using a $20 off coupon from Harbor Freight to buy a Lynxx cordless lithium chainsaw for $160, as an early birthday present for myself. But today I looked on Facebook Marketplace and found an Echo chainsaw, NIB, also for $160, about half the price at Home Depot. It is 16" versus 14", 56 volt versus 40 volt, and 4.0 A-h versus 2.5 A-h. An electric chainsaw is also an appropriate purchase for Earth Day.
I didn't notice the price tag on the box. But even if I could find such a deal in a store, I'd have to pay $9.60 sales tax. So it's all good.
I charged the battery for about 45 minutes, to about 3/4 charge, and I made about 10 cuts on some 6"-12" limbs:
The battery was still at about 3/4 charge. Each cut took maybe 10 seconds. I figure the motor might draw about 12 amps (3C) at 56 volts, or 672 watts, or about 3/4 HP. At 10 seconds per cut, I should be able to get at least 100 cuts on a full charge. That's more than enough for what I plan to do with the tool. So I am happy.

I have their 56v weedwhacker and air blower. The airblower is a real current hog, and they ship it with a smaller MAH battery???

I cut up firewood for next winter and also cut up a birch that had broken in two in a storm, the birch was gushing sap out of the top and attracting insects, it stood no chance of surviving.
I have a Stihl MS 170. It's a small chain saw but it's excellent for my purposes. I run it on Aspen alkylate gasoline only.
