That's a good suggestion. I'll look into a fiberglass one. Or are you saying I need to lose weight? LOL!

EDIT: out of curiosity, what does the label on that ladder specify?

That does look like a flimsy ladder. There are much stronger aluminum ladders, as well as fiberglass, and even wood. Good thing you weren't hurt worse. My balance has become very questionable, so I rarely climb ladders, and when I do, it's only 2-3 rungs. At 70, there are many things I can't do (safely) anymore.

My buddy John and I have been working on getting rid of much of the overgrowth on the steep hill behind my house:











I also cut down an ugly stump, using my awesome electric chainsaw:





I also managed to climb up the hill, by another easier route:


John cut some limbs from this big tree that had fallen some time ago. The meadow is badly overgrown:




There is a big locust tree leaner across the upper access road. I might try using a heavy duty come-along and chains to pull it out of the tree where it's caught, so it can be safely handled on the ground:


I'm also trying to get my gas mowers and brush cutter running, but they've been neglected over a year, so I'm dealing with crud like this:

Made a replacement door for the cat carrier. This way I don't have to discard the old one and buy a new one just because of that.

I use Seafoam to clean crud like that out of carbs. My 4 year old Husqvarna commercial mower was surging and I put Seafoam in it and ran it for about an hour while I was mowing. It smoothed right out. No affiliation with the company. Just a satisfied user.

Almost finished up the preparations for hurricane Dorian. Dorian reached category 5 in the Bahamas, with gusts up to 225 mph. It has dropped back to category 4, and is expected to turn North so that it moves North off the Florida East Coast. If it follows that path, our wind and rain may be less than we feared. Waiting for a hurricane is like being stalked by a turtle.

I don't think it will work in this case, as the fuel passages are clogged and will need mechanical removal. The engine did not seem to catch even slightly, but starter fluid sprayed into the air cleaner made it run well for a few seconds.

I might get some anyway - at $7 per can it's not too costly.

Been up for 28 hours. Drove half way across the state and back to drop my best friend off at an Alcohol rehab center to get detoxed. He blew a .304!
Chemical dependency is a horribly scary thing. This is a guy that if you were to take away everything he had, he'd still become a millionaire in 6 months. Well, his ex took away his daughter, something he couldn't handle. He never drank before that.
