Regarding the bolts; some manufactures weld the bolts to keep them from coming off. The welds need to be ground off if the blades need replaced. This manufacture does not do that and just uses a bolt with a lock nut. The blades are held on by a single bolt so they may rotate if a tree or stump is hit. When I looked at the way this mower was made, the locking part of the nut never got tightened down on to the threads of the bolt because the bolt length is a little short. For reference in the picture, the threads are 1 1/8"-12.
