Today I fixed my hammer rack (finally!). Once I got it all together and everything tight on it again (this time I glued the joints) I filled it with hammers (still have some left over though) and emptied out the old bucket I had been keeping them in and lo and behold...there at the bottom of the bucket was a T-nut for my mill that I have been looking for for ages! It made my day!Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Concert #166 was jazz, vibraphone, bass, and drums. Good stuff. Last night was Schoenberg followed by some Strauss. Almost the last concerts, it's getting colder, and also dark earlier.4357 2773 5150 9120 9135 8645 1007 1190 2133 9120 5942

In my approaching old age I decided that a bit of travel in the USA would be entertaining and educational (after the pandemic of course). Brought up a google map of the country, closed my eyes and placed a finger on the screen, it landed on Nebraska so this is my goal for now.
USA citizen born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in New Jersey but have not traveled much in this country aside from the East Coast, the farthest west that I have traveled is Louisville, KY.
Where should I go in Nebraska? Anyone ever been there.

Unless you have a working, profitable farm or ranch, the only place people in Nebraska want to go is - pretty much anywhere else!
I was going to say go to the "Dust Bowl Museum". Here is a close equivalent:

I've never been there, but I have driven through Kansas, which is much the same.http://pauleschoen.com/pix/PM08_P76_P54.png

Tough luck eh? Hopefully you make the trip about the journey and not the destination haha.
Just looked at the numbers from the 2010 census.
Nebraska 77,000 square miles in area, 1.9 million population
New Jersey 8700 square miles in area, 8.8 million population
But the random choice of destination has been made so am sticking to it, good, bad or otherwise. As countless jokes contend what could be worse then New Joisey?

If you visit the "Legacy of the Plains" museum in Gering, NE, you will be only 95 miles from Cheyenne, WY, which has much of the flavor of an old Wild West town, and from there it's not far from Greeley, CO, where I visited an internet friend who took me to a rodeo, and then a short hop to Denver (where we saw a Rockies game at Coors Park and ate mountain oysters). Just west of Denver are the Rocky Mountains and many scenic areas. And you could head north to visit Yellowstone.

Today i took my .57 calibre table top Puckle Gun for show and tell at the local gun store. It went well as the shop owner likes unusual guns, and a couple of customers wanted to inspect it too. That was very pleasant too, but the real prize was a younger man who was curious about the design and materials used told me that he owns a production machine shop that makes all kinds of steel alloy parts and that i would be welcome to forage in his scrap bins so long as he could drop by my shop and see what kinds of toys i come up with. Aside from such a generous offer, i sensed a kindred spirit. I imagine a good friendship could sprout from this.

NZ is no longer in strict lock-down, so we are back to proper auditorium concerts, and this afternoon we hosted one of our top pianists playing Haydn, Schumann, Liszt and Beethoven. Fabulous!
I don't get down to the regular concerts that much, so having mini-concerts just a few doors down the street has been a real treat.4357 2773 5150 9120 9135 8645 1007 1190 2133 9120 5942
