  • Hip replacements are a breeze. I was in the OR for 47 minutes. Then they give you a little wakeup pop and presto the propofol is gone and you're mentally 100%. 4-5 hours later you're walking stairs. I was in at 6am and went home the next morning. Many go home the same day.

    • Thanks for the information, hope mine goes as smooth. I was supposed to have surgery the first week of December.
Received a call from the hospital day before surgery that all surgeries were canceled because of Covid.
Did all that prep for clearance, even showered with that nasty soap, then got cancelled.

Same thing has happened to me twice for the second cataract. Hospitals were so full they cancelled everything, and even were sending emergency patients elsewhere.

        • metalfixer There's an irony to your handle that they're going to be fixing you with a chunk of stainless! Looks like that chair would take the weight even if they used lead!
Hope it goes well. I'm sure you already know - being part cyborg already! Make sure you do any and all physio they give you to keep the mobility.

Weather man just said there would be snow today....and suddenly as if by magic, it started falling heavily (for the UK, in almost April!) past the windows.

          • It’s sunny here, amazing it’s normally raining, bit chilly but beautiful blue skies! Forgot what that looked like, normally white retina burning sheet of featureless goo.
( we had snow here that took a week to melt, very odd stuff)

            • Spent some time in the shop working on some legs for a friend. Plenty time before I have to go pick up my son from school.....hang on, did I change the clocks in the workshop?! Nope. I name my new timezone WorkShop Time (WST) .... 'cos I'm at least an hour behind everyone else!

Nice pic. Beautiful spot. Reminds me I still need to summerize my sled. Only got out twice this year. Worst year yet.

                          • Bought a Horror Freight Surface Conditioner. The hex key that you use to change out the drums came with it, but had no place to store it on the tool. So I turned a piece of nylon, bored to fit the hex key and pinned it to the inside of the handle.

                            • Was just treated to this awesome display of nature. 1 big Tom, 3 Jakes, and 16 hens putting on a show in the backyard. Forgive the pics, they were taken through the screen in the bathroom window. Tom led the way across the backyard, putting on a show, the 3 jakes followed also putting on a show, and the hens just walked along pecking at food and seemed like they couldn't care less about all the showboats fluffing their feathers off to the side lol.

Reminds me of my younger days out at the bars trying to pick up women.
