Looking for a 1 1/2-18 30 taper boring head arbor, not finding much available, received a new defective one, sent it back for refund, filed PayPal dispute. Now I see one on ebay without a drive flange, and the other tooling that came with the mill has a flange. Is the flange really needed? I've only used an R8 machine up to this point.

-I bought one from Travers 1-800-221-0270, it is listed as:
-Shanks for boring heads with 1-1/2-18 threaded backs
-#30 National taper with 1/2"-13 drawbar & drive flange.
-$79.99 in 2009 catalog
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-when I got it I found it had some other drawbar thread---called and talked to a lady named Patty "PJ" Cody--she had a guy named Charley check and make sure the replacement had the right thread----and they replaced it.
-They were very good about taking care of the problem.
-I think they were at the Duncan South Carolina establishment---phone there is 1-800-445-1445 or 1-864-433-9000

I ended up buying a boring head with a 30 taper on it from ebay. Looks good. Never have used it.
