  • weight of leblond lathe

could any one tell me how much a leblond regal 15x54 weighs aprox.

I may have one following me home and was wondering the weight so I
know what size trailer I need.

looking at it I would guess 1000-1200lbs?

    thanks for any help

    1000+1200= 2100lbs

There that more in the range I believe.

At least that much. Could be closer 3000#. I'd plan on 4000# so you can be on the safe side.

I had a 16x54 LeBlond some years back that according to the manual weighed just shy of 4500 lbs. I think they were being conservative.

It never hurts to over estimate the weight of machinery, unless You are paying for it based on weight. But 4,000 sounds a little high.
I have a Leblond 16X48 Dual Drive and I'd say it comes in around 22-2,400 pounds. So I think You are safe figuring around 3,000 .
No mention of weights in My manual, but lots of dimensions.

What model , that sounds high for a newer (1950's) one. But I've been wrong at least one other time .

I sold the machine twenty years ago, don't remember the specific model, but I do remember it was built in the 1940s. It was a beast, VERY heavy duty.

We are friends - remember I was talking about going in halves with you on that LeBlond 15 for parts. That was the weight the guy quoted me on having it shipped out here. As much as you and me spent on parts, and the way the guys over at the Yahoo LeBlond Group salivate over parts on Eboner, it probably would have turned a profit

                    Next time

BTW: when are we going to look at the Ckt board for your cnc

That included 300 pounds of crating , so I was right after all .

                        Hey Steve

Did I give you a 4 way tool post holder when you were over for the Bar-B-Que.

just wondering if you were using it

                          Nope, just the R8-1'' holder.

                            OK - thanks

I'll have to keep looking around here for it. I have the small Harding 4 way which was a little short even for my 12" lathe and I was looking for the larger 4 way to put on the LeBlond temporarily until I can get a QC tool post.

Any word on our shipment from Ohio ?

I seem to remember one of the others leaving with something kinda large but I can't remember who left with what. You were giving so much stuff away I thought You were in the sun too long .

He never got back to Me after My second request so I figured He gave Me the brush off.
