  • one shot lube how do I do it

    SO what do I need to do and how is it put in. I got the pump thing, what caned on lines do i need to use ect, and where do they go, iam lost on this. The mill is a G3617 Horizontal / Vertical Mill Brett

    Too much to explain..... you know the basics, oil lines to all the "slidey stuff".

    There was an article on adding it to a mill some years back in HSM magazine, you might check the article list and see if it is in a collection, or available as a back issue.

      And also an article recently in Model Engineer's Workshop discussing the metering required to be sure oil gets to every location rather than being hogged by the path of least resistance. They illustrated a lathe installation but all the basic princples hold.

          Mount the pump on the side of the knee, so it can ride up & down.
          Run lines to both sides of the knee 'Z' ways, both 'X' ways, and both 'Y' ways.
          The ways are what you want lubed.
          You can even go a step further and lube all three leadscrews.
