  • Thread chart for Leblond lathe

I have a 7E series 19" leblond regal lathe I'm bringing back to life. It's threading chart is missing. Is there anybody out there who has this lathe, and can help?

If you can't find a chart, mount a dial indicator against the carriage and measure the movement of the carriage for exactly one revolution of the spindle(be sure to take up backlash in the gear train before taking the reading, and be sure to be exact with the one spindle revolution)Divide the answer into one to get threads per inch(example .125 carriage movement= 1/.125= 8 threads per inch. do this for each position of the gearbox and make your own chart. Another way would be to chuck a piece of bar stock in the lathe and make a light pass on each gearbox setting, then measure with a pitch gauge(turning the scribed line off between each reading to get a fresh surface)
