  • Really BIG vise

You guys wanna see a big vise?

No, they wouldn't part with it for 10 bucks.

Yes, I think KKK is a misnomer, I would've gone for BFV.

Does anybody have a Mill table that would fit it?
I think mine would tip over.

I think that table top developed crack from weight of the vise!

Looks like it would be a great shaper vise. Got any sizes and capacities?

Ok, for those of us living below the 49th Parallel, what are the dimensions of a 10 Beaver Buck note?

Thank you, Pete. Not too many Canadian notes down here in Iowa, and not enough portraits of dead presidents in my pocket, either!

LOL, No problem. You don't have to go very far south before nobody will touch canadian money, Far enough south and even most banks don't like it either. At least that's been my experience anyway. (somehow that say's something about our money, I just haven't figured out what yet.)

Can a company get away with calling itself, or its brand, by the initials KKK, in the US nowadays ?

I ask because one of my cars has the registration number KKK, and my eldest daughter keeps nagging me to get rid of either the number plate or the car on the basis of both political correctness, and self-preservation.

I get it in change even in MO...... but, if they give it to you in change, and you say "gimme real US money insteadda this"...... they say "I ain't takin that back, it ain't money"......... even if you haven't moved your hand since it was dropped in.

Taking Canadian coins has been standard for decades in Michigan. Most of the stop and rob stores here have Arab owner and they would go to Windsor and get rolls of coin and mix em in with US stuff to pass out for change.
When the exchange rate was .70 CDN to buck it was a good gig for them.
BTW they do not work in our vending machines and the banks will dock ya the rate.

i see the vise looks very close to if not new. KKK is a very old chinese tool company, I do believe that they now longer exist if i had to guess i dont think they have been around for the last 15-20 years at least. I have a KKK set of wrenches. kkk tools are very hard to come by

That was made for either a good sized shaper or a planer.

That looks like a nice shaper vise.
I picked up a shaper vise with 380mm (15 inch ) jaws for my 24 inch Alba shaper a month ago. It was advertised as an American vise, but I am not sure what brand as the only thing I can find is HA cast into parts of it. The price was right at $150 but it took 4 of us to get it out of the station wagon.

One thing I notice on that one that looks similar to mine is the swivel base gets done up from underneath instead of on top like most other vises. Anybody know why they where built that way? Seems awkward to me.
