  • Shars and Grizzly Sander/Grinder Dual Mount

Bought a Griz tool grinder and after doing the standard mods and adjustments, I decided to save space by mounting it to my disk/belt sander. BTW, I bought the Griz over the HF with hopes of better quality control. I was not unexpetidly disappointed. I wasted $100.00... but loyal to Griz.
Anyway, I used 1" square tube and 1 1/4" angle. Welded 1/2' flange nuts to the bottom of the tubes and thru bolted to the sander base. The rest is pretty straight forward. My tool hoist just barely had enought lift to fit it. It's actually nice to have the grinder at chest level; easy to see what you are doing. One more project down.
    Regards,
    HAP

There are some other ingenious designs that I have seen on the board a while back. Could not find them with the search. I think you have to know what key word is used for a particular search...

I'll often sand pieces on the 6" belt that are much wider than 6" -- sometimes a couple feet long. If you remove the table and basin from your carbide grinder, do you still have enough clearance to still do this?

That makes so much sense I had to fire up the ass kicking machine for not thinking of it myself.

Pete good eye. Moving the machine 1/2" aft of center would give me that ability even with the water tray on... I can make that adjustment if needed. Always a better way I guess
