    Hi,

    Here's a program (on the 'net) that will create a dfx file for involute gears. Someone asked for this but I can't find the thread regarding it.

    Anyway here it is:

    Thanks for that Mike.
    Plenty good enough for CAD but not that accurate. Try doing an internal gear using their instructions and you still get sharp points to the top of the teeth.

    The best gear generating software I have seen is an old copy of GearGEN that is available as shareware from quite a few sites, Here's one:-

    I still have this on my machine but since the last upgrade it no longer runs. I am still on W2K but had got a faster chip fitted and I'm not computer savey enough to sort this out.
    Unfortunalty the author of Geargen has dissapeared as I would have loved to get the full version.
    All I get at the moment is the start screen, then it hangs there.
    Any help on this at all please ?
