  • 12-axle load

Here is a fifth wheel load I aim to see. http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/state/...-state-journey It will be traveling through Kingman, and Phoenix at a snails pace.

I habitually count axles on passing trucks. Don't think I've seen a load with more tires on the ground than this. Here is another view: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/aug/06/oversize/

Thats a cute lil toy. Too bad they have to contend with the idiocy that are state DOT regulations these days. I drove a HET pulling the M1000 trailer several times in the army. Its definitely an interesting ride.

Not having any big truck driving experience it just seems that one pulling and one pushing would be enough. I know they have gear ratios we cannot even imagine...........

Here in Michigan we have what is called a gravel train.11 axles. They are only legal in Mi.I live on a 2 lane road and
have 3 gravel pits 4 mile down the road. When things were booming I had one going by every 6 minutes or so,There got to thousands of them here.

the driver is pulling his train into the job and getting ready to back up to dump

The driver just dumped his lead, and is backing into his pup trailer to hook up.

Why isn't it moving by rail? There is rail service to that mine.

It would be a circuitous route – from Utah, up to Wyoming, down to Denver, over Raton Pass into New Mexico, then west to the mine at Miami, Arizona. But that might be faster, if the load isn't too heavy for the rails.

I expect there would be. The tracks also pass under I-10 six miles west of Bowie at Luzena.

Sorry for the picture quality. Copied from the local scandal sheet.
