After reading about that poor girl killing herself on a lathe I was reminded of a poster I saw as an apprentice. It was in black and white and very gory. It was an actual picture of a bloody scalp and lots of hair hanging from a large drill bit in a drill press. After 20+ years it is still burned in my memory. I am wondering if anyone else remembers this safety poster and where I could get it. Thanks, Neal

The only one I remember is the one where the guy was using a file last year.

I don't think you need to traumatize yourself and others around you in order to learn safety.

just drape some bloody gauze strips around the shop if you're really worried about reminders. Making people afraid to use the equipment is a distraction they don't need. Respect is more important then fear in this situation.

Thank you to our families of soldiers, many of whom have given so much more then the rest of us for the Freedom we enjoy.

It is true, there is nothing free about freedom, don't be so quick to give it away.

The safety guy where worked 30 years ago use to hand out tiny safety pamplets with the pay checks every week. There was one that I have always remembered.

There are 2 types of people that get hurt at work. The young guys and the old guys. The young guys don't know the dangers of the equipment yet. The old guys are no longer afraid of the equipment.

Those gory pictures stick in your mind and it makes you remember and be safe. The shop teacher in high school had those gory posters all over the shop walls.
