  • Message Posting Question ??

Can someone tell me why the actual messages and times of posting that I see in these discussion threads much of the time don't match those shown on the BB listing? I look at the listing and it shows a recent entry, say within the last 2 or 3 hours. Yet when I pull up the discussion and go to the bottom the last entry is an old one that I read hours ago. This seems to be rule rather than the exception. I haven't participated in these type discussion forums much, is this common? Does that item listing posting time get updated even if someone starts making an entry then cancels out?

It may be just the way the system posts the message - it may note the start time in one and record end time in the other.

You could send an email to Neil, but I would not worry about it - it is not like whe are betting money or anything.

    Sometimes time is irrelevant...

Au contraire! If I may wax philosophical for a moment - time is the most precious commodity we have! It is the building blocks of our lives. Every nanosecond lost is gone forever. .... blah..blah.blah.
(yea verily. I've just wasted billions of my nanoseconds waxing philosophical, and still can't see those postings that I so eagerly seek) Oh well.

            Sure, discriminate against the leftists!

Time is precious because we put a value on it - throw your clocks out and don't worry - or, you could do as Albert Einstein did and have 7 suits - one for each day - because thinking about what to wear was inefficient. Plus he did not wear socks because "socks wear out". Good point, but then - he still wore clothes that wore out didn't he! So much for "Grand Unified Theories" .

            I rest my case. Q.E.D.

              Lynnl,
You're right. Every nanosecond is precious.
We're gonna spend a lot more time under ground, than we have on top.
Too many projects, too little time.
-alls to the wall, full speed ahead!

                          Lynnl,
When you enter a machine shop, does the machinery go silent?

The machines do. The test indicators whistle and hoot.

When I was in the hospital for almost two months I found I liked the moomoo's (I got the cow sized ones) they give you - almost made me buy a kilt it did...
