  • What year was my Southbend 9" Model C Workshop lathe made???

    I have recently aquired a Southbend 9" Model C Workshop lathe and I am in the process of putting it back together (it wasn't assembled, but was about 90% complete when I bought it). . .

    . . .I would like to know what year it was made;

    Cat #: 420-ZB (from the label plate that came with the lathe)
    S/N: 52691 (from the tailstock end of the bed)

    Thanks for the help!

    You can check out Steve Wells site for lots of information about the SBs.

    For determining your SB year of birth, check this page and scroll down until you find lathes with close serial numbers to yours:

    Cheers,
