    If you want to take the lazy approach and keep the original motor, you can buy VFD's that take 110 volt single phase input and generate 3 phase 220 volt output.

    I think the max motor size for these special VFD's is 2 HP.

    On 60hz, it's a 900watt (1.2hp) 1800 rpm type that develops full hp when loaded to 1670rpm.

    A 1725rpm 1.5hp will work fine.

    Helping someone to change his hydraulic pump motor from 3 phase to single phase and wanting to use 115 VAC if possible.

    I don't understand this motor rating. Would a standard 1725 rpm motor of 1-1/2 hp rating with capacitor start work for a replacement?

    A VFD with 115 VAC input doesn't seem to be an option for a 1-1/2 hp motor.
