  • Triplett Lathe

I have a chance to get a Triplett lathe. I took a look at it today. It looks rather heavy, with a domed cover over the drive end. The owner called it a tool room lathe, and cost I couldn't find much on the internet about this lathe. Anyone have one? Stan

There is of course the Triplett company that makes multimeters and such. I assume it is still in business.

How old is the lathe? If WWII vintage, it's conceivable that Triplett made lathes for a while, though switching from multimeters to lathes seems like quite a stretch and one would think multimeters would be a wartime necessity too.

Or maybe it's just a machine that they owned and used in their plant. Without a photo, who knows.
