  • In the market for a new tumbler.

Looking for a small tumbler to hold about 5 lb. of aluminum +-. Would like some opinions on brand and rotating vs vibrating. Also wonder if there is a difference between the ones advertised for reloaders and one that can be used for brass & aluminum by changing media.
    thanks

Have a look at a RCBS Sidewinder tumbler. I got the 240V model and throw 10-20 lbs into it regularly with no problems while Moly coating (impact plating) bullets in steel shot media.

I've got to run to Reno today to deliver parts.
I'll be back Tues. I've got a big Dillon Vibrator unit you can try if you want.
I mostly use a cheapie Home despot cement mixer.

      Give me a holler.

For rotary tumblers, I really like the Thumbler's Tumblers. Several models to choose from. I have a Model B. Cheaper than a Sidewinder new if I remember and with a little looking around they can be had for $100 +/- used.

My dad uses a HF cement mixer for reloading Rem .223 / NATO 5.56. He's been using it for like five years and it's worked fine, assuming you have the correct media.
