Floor jack repair parts

I have a Montgomery Ward 1 1/2 T floor jack I would like to fix. The piston cup is a plastic material, and broken. I cannot find a direct method of searching.

I'm not sure about where you live but here there re a couple of hydraulics supply companies. These companies sell cups, "O" Rings, hoses and all sorts of hydraulic parts. This one I have used and a link to their page about hydraulic cups.

If you can find one in your area you can take your cup and have them match it up.

I ran across this thread awhile back and bookmarked it in case I ever had to rebuild my jack. It looked like a helpful tutorial.

Hydeaulic floor jacks are seldome rebuilt now because of liability.If its your personal jack thats not an issue but it has dried up the once abundent supply of parts and kits. Try NAPA stores the usally can order kits if you get an able counterman.Don't be afrade to try leather cups for pump service,they can even be easily made.Where I used to work I had a nice Lincoln 10 ton floor jack the little leather pump cup would wear out kits were $50.00 didn't need it all. Found a hardware store that had pump cups for .25 worked the same. Frank C.

Thanks for the link. I've got a floor jack I picked up at a farm auction this summer for $5 that looks the same as the one in that link. I had to make a handle, and lifting pad for it, but it needs to be rebuilt as it leaks down a bit. lifts good enough to be able to slide a jack stand in under the vehicle though.

I just read through a 1918 catalog of there's , man they carried a lot of stuff, it was 1008 pages thick!!

In the context you're referring to.....No, unfortunately. The big catalogue, and store version vanished 10+ years ago. Then the Sears that we knew gets bought up by Kmart. Those were the good 'ole days. What happened?

Harbor freight floor jack, the orange one, bellied up. Main seal came out looking like pieces of frozen bubble gum. Cleaned out all the passages and approached the lathe with the following to be machined, replacing the seal components found in the original jack. Been working slickernsnott ever since.
