  • Yet another 4x6 bandsaw mod

You guys will get a laugh out of this one. I bolted some stock to the motor base. It goes back about 6" and then 1" square tube is welded on and goes up at a 65 degree angle. There is a hook at the end. Total length from the motor base is 18".

I hang a paint can on the hook with ball bearings in it. You control the feed rate by adding or subtracting bearings. I cut a piece of 1 by 3" aluminum the other day without the blade jamming up.

    ...whatever works!

BTW, I'd run (not walk) down to the neighborhood patent attorney's office and get him working on protecting your idea.

I did a modification to my mig welder feeder.I found that the large roll of wire was getting unwound and then wound so often, eventually it would all snag under the large bobbin.
It was a real mess to sort out.
One day I took it all apart and made a coller of exact fitting mealamine (plastic) which I measured doubled like a minsters coller then glued it into a circle/band.
Then I ground a slot for the wire and slipped it over the boobin.
Reesult is the wire does not unspool all underneath anymore never gave me any trouble since try it if your having similar trouble Alistair
Please excuse my typing as I have a form of parkinsons disease
