  • Question on Craigs list tool...

Besides the humor value of this being the most unimaginative Craig's list ad ever, can anyone tell me what this tool is for? I'm sure I've seen these before but can't seem to recall what these things are for:

    Possibly a farm fencing tool?

Looks a lot like an upholstery tool. The wide grooved jaws grip the fabric/vinyl/leather to pull it tight for stapling. The V in the end of one handle is to remove tacks.

Another alternative is a canvas stretching tool used when making ones own canvases to paint on. My wife (an artist) has something quite similar (less the rust).

I have one just like it from Harbor freight. A bit smaller, but matches the general design. you use it to straighten or create seams in sheet metal.

At the end of the project, there is a profound difference between spare parts and extra parts.

Tack claw in handle, hammer boss on one side, upholstery for sure.
