  • Fancy Engraving (photos)

These photos were sent to me by Kelly Tylandsvik (the organizer of the Estevan Model Engineering Show). It is the work of Roger Ronnies from Rapid City SD. Enjoy.

Interesting, I would have a hard enough time just making the main body let alone the engraving.

A true craftsman. Engraving of the quality is not easy.

I want to know what is so special about the penny.

Well if nothing, the penny at least shows us scale.

Could you do something similar with an etch system. I mean something you could coat the metal with that would harden when exposed to ultraviolet light through a printed mask and then wash and expose it to an acid it etch it deeply?

Nope, I have no idea what it's for.

One of the things I like most about going to custom knife shows is looking at the engraving on the art knives I'll never be able to afford. Truly amazing stuff.

Engraving is certainly an art all to itlesf. It's like doing a bas-relief under a microscope.
